The Croatian tourism development strategy 2014- 2020 showed the need to structure the services offer which does not include only accommodation but also the so called accompanying content. This type of content surely represents motivation for travelling to Istria for holiday since it encompasses different excursions – of one or more days, guided tours around destinations in Istria, rent-a-car services etc. A quality offer which will prolong the season (in accordance with the PPS 365 programme – pre and post season) and contribute sustainability has been the basis for creating the website visitistria.com.
The platform will eventually ease up creation, presentation and distribution of tourist services having in mind the direction of the Strategic marketing plan of Croatian tourism 2014-2020.
It refers to the following:
- C1. Brand strength development plan (Initiative 3.3.) – Incentive to include booking content on websites, social networks and other platforms and
- C2. Tourism traffic strengthening in the pre and post season period (Initiative 6.1.) – enable online PPS booking system.
